Correspondence from some of our PRP members PRP club members from Lafayette, California comment on the annual Club Picnic: Hi, We just wanted you to know that we and our two guests thoroughly enjoyed the day at the annual Husch Members' picnic in early June. The food and wine pairing was superb and the lunch equally wonderful. The tours, the music, the food, and of course your great wine made it a fabulous day. Though we've been members for several years, this was our first members' picnic. We'll be back! Tomorrow, for our 4th of July celebration, we're inviting friends for a patio dinner and we're planning to have a vertical tasting of your 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 Pinot Noirs. We expect to have another great time pairing your wines with our food. We just wanted to thank you for a most enjoying wine club experience. In addition to your wonderful wines, the staff is always courteous and efficient. Another special thank you from PRP members who came all the way from Virginia to attend this year's Club Picnic. Just a note to say thank you, thank you, thank you! Our first (but certainly not our last) "picnic in the vineyards" was all we had hoped for and so much more! From the efficient shuttle service, to the hospitable welcome, to the informative picnic brochure (thank you for including the recipes), to the wonderful wine, accompanying treats and tasty buffet, to the education on synthetic vs. natural corks…everything was so well orchestrated. Even the weather was perfect! We're sure this was a whole team effort, and we commend all of you for a job extremely well done. A tale from "Renegade" fans: I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the bottle of Sav. Blanc "Renegade" which came in the recent PRP shipment. I'd like to order a case of this, and also tell you why I am a bit partial to it! It may become our house wine! I have attached a picture of my golden retriever, "Jackson". His AKC registered name is Champion Justmoor Southern Renegade. When I saw that your PRP shipment contained a bottle that shared his name, I couldn't resist trying it immediately. I was delighted to note, while reading the bottle's label, that the grapes for this were harvested on September 8, which happens to be Jackson's birthday! Some things must be Fate, I decided. So we raised our glasses and toasted both Husch and the golden boy, and we all enjoyed the warm October afternoon. Club Members from Pennsylvania had this story to share with us: In 1974 we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, staying at the Harbour House in Elk. At dinner we were served a Husch Chardonnay which led us to visit the winery the next day. This was our introduction to fine wines. Since then we have tasted wines in many states and countries including France, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Chile and more. All dinners, whether home or out include good wines. Husch provided the inspiration 27 years ago.
